Today, Apple announced that its customers have now downloaded a whopping one billion applications from its App Store. Here at ReadWriteWeb, quite a few of us have iPhones, so we thought that this would be a good time to feature some of our favorite apps. We download and test a lot of iPhone apps, but here are the ones that have stood the test of time for us. The App Store is now home to over 35,000 applications, so this is obviously only a small selection of applications, but these are the apps that we don't hesitate to recommend to our friends.
We couldn't get feedback from everybody on the RWW team (and our BlackBerry users weren't very forthcoming with suggestions either), but here are the recommendations from Richard MacManus (R), Marshall Kirkpatrick (M), Frederic Lardinois (F), and Phil Glockner (P).

Todo (F) - lots of to-do list apps for the iPhone - this one is $9.99, but worth the moneyChat / Voip

These are the apps that we use every day, but you surely have your own favorites, so feel free to leave a comment and let us know which apps you prefer.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm the Community Manager for Box.net. But, I can say that I love the Box.net app regardless because it not only extends the storage capacity of my phone, but it lets me view and share files stored in the cloud wherever I am.
F - you forgot to add Flickit, my favorite way to publish photos to Flickr. I love it!
Besides some of above I like also:
- Mastercard ATM Hunter
- Flixster
- Yelp
- iTranslate
- The weather Channel
- iTV
- Earthcomber
- Where
- Take that car (helps you find the car in a big parking lot)
SipPhone - www.vnet-corp.com Open (SIP) VoIP client that actually works !
3Banana (Note-taking + social sharing of notes)
Barcodes (ZXing - Open Source 2D Barcode Reader)
I'll second Groundwork for Basecamp. It's wicked fast and easy to use.
Netnewswire is great too because it syncs with the desktop client so that articles read in one place are read in the other too.
More:
+ Shazam
+ Evernote
Movies by Flixster!
- Convertbot - Fun way to convert units.
- Wallpaper Maker - Easy wallpaper labeling.
Quite surprisingly, some 3 days back on 21st April I posted a blog post about 100+ iPhone Apps anyone should have on iPhone.
Here is the link:

Hope other readers of RWW find that too interesting. Many of the suggestions mentioned above are part of this list.
Thanks

Slacker Radio is pretty cool (similar to Pandora) and WSJ's new app is well done.
My favorite is the app my company created: PimpMyNews - it converts text news and blogs to audio, so you can listen to them on the go.
It's on the app store here: http://bit.ly/PMNiPhone
Other great apps are:
Twittelator
Remember The Milk
Brightkite
Air Sharing
Tumblrette
Shazam
SnapTell
GoodRec
Kyte Producer
Most used apps:
• Ambiance - We use it every night to help our 4 mos. old fall asleep
• Facebook - For a quick peak at what my friends are up to
• NY Times - A tad slow, but always good content
• Tetris - Classic gaming on the go
New favorite app:
• Dial 9 - A Smart Visual Dialer - I'm a bit biased on this one.
I love it!
Skype for chart & calls
Facebook & LinkedIn for Social networks
Last.fm for music
Wrike.com for productivity and project management
I love all the practical stuff... what helps you to make daily life easier...
For instance.. Google voice search!
And one question...
I miss a good airline application
Anyone know any nice one?
My favorite iPhone application is Vegas Slots. I noticed you guys didn't review any games. Why not? There are some really cool games out there for iPhone.
I can't live without my Weather Channel App, I use Facebook Mobile more than I'd like to admit - but my heart is, of course, with my OWN first App that just launched, and the only one of its kind in the App store - check out "BumperCars" everyone!
I would add:
Best Netflix Queue Manager: iPhlix
Best Finance App: Mint
Best Twitter App: Tweetie
Best Game: WordBreaker and Strategery (tie, I'm additcted to both)
My favorite are the RPG games by Storm8. They are ridiculously addicting:
WorldWar
Racing Live
Kingdoms Live
iMobsters
Vampires Live
Very intuitive system. However, it may yet be a little confusing. I will keep visiting this blog very often. After this I will read all your posts thankful.
My favorite app has to be the one where you take a photo of a person and then rearrange their faces and put on new features on them like weird glasses etc. It's such great fun and it is a stress relief of some sort.
