I think this must be the bio they aired on satellite here a week or two ago (can't remember the title, but the length was right). Big eye opener to find Dylan wasn't really that much of a politico after all (but Joan Baez++).

The electric concert bits were hilarious - was it Pete Seeger was going to cut the cables? Spot on to apply this to web development. Turn it up!

Yes it was Pete Seeger who (supposedly) was going to cut the cables, although there seemed to be some doubt about whether it was a rumor or actual fact.

Personally I think Dylan was just as much a politico as Baez, except that he got tired of the whole folk scene and didn't want to be stererotyped as just a political singer. Hence the title of this post, Musical Expeditionary, which is what Dylan called himself in the DVD.

According to (someone who claims to be) a director of the Newport Folk Festival, many of the stories about Dylan's appearance aren't true: http://buffaloreport.com/020826dylan.html

Additionally, it would seem out of character for Pete Seeger to attempt to "cut the cables" on Dylan. Seeger was never a musical purist and he's always loved all sorts of musical creativity, electrified or not. It's hard to imagine him having any issues with Dylan's new creative direction.
