I don’t think the problem is Memeorandum or news trackers per se, but then maybe Gabe could tweak the algorithm to weed out the flame wars and other stuff that isn't "tech". It’s not news, after all…

Barcamp has been largely ignored by the 'power tech' community. But even Doc 'discovered' the grassroots movement that is happening and found it very informative and intersting.

There is more news to technology than...erm...the technology itself. There is context. We really shouldn't be weeding that out.

But that's just my opinion...I like context.
