After several years of talking about it, YouTube made a surprise move today and launched m.youtube.com - a site with nearly all content and functionality available on the website proper now available on mobile. Users are also able to upload mobile video through the new site.
Though initially limited to 3G phones with the ability to stream video (my Blackjack tried to load Windows Media Player), David Kaplan at MocoNews says a Java version for Nokia and SonyEricsson phones is in the works.

I'd be more likely to use a mobile StumbleUpon that included YouTube videos with community vetted content or the ability to view YouTube players embedded in blogs. I often find myself frustrated while reading feeds on my phone to come across a video I'd like to view as part of a story. I need to spend some time diving deep into Flash Lite though it seems evident that the whole mobile video world, with the possible partial exception of the iPhone, is lagging.
One I discovered the value of mobile IM, I am no longer skeptical when hearing about the prospect of doing anything new on my phone.
