Last week was arguably a tipping point for FriendFeed, the lifestreaming app that aggregates all of your social feeds together. FriendFeed first came to our attention in early February, when Sean Ammirati interviewed the founders on our podcast show ReadWriteTalk. At the end of February FriendFeed officially launched, then at SXSW it gained momentum, and by the end of last week it was officially hot - when blogger Louis Gray noted that many "elite bloggers" were using it. So, let's run a poll to see how many RWW readers are using it.

]]> And there is certainly no shame in not using it, because frankly many people still view Twitter as a waste of time - and FriendFeed is like Twitter on steroids. If you're unfamiliar with FriendFeed, Blake Robinson explained it here on RWW: "In FriendFeed, friends create accounts and add all of their independent feeds from blogs, bookmarking, music services etc. Then the service aggregates your friends' feeds into one concise stream. It currently supports 28 services ranging from Amazon Wishlists to Zooomr photos to more common feeds like Twitter, Facebook and Flickr."

No, I've been using Jaiku for almost a year now and it does exactly what FriendFeed does.

I am using it, but barely.

I looked and couldn't work out why I'd use this rather than, say, the things I've already set up for tumblr.

Anyone help me out here?

I started to use it this weekend, although I have not seen the hype, only after I signed up. Just someone mentioned it on Twitter.

i'm using it. but most of my "friends" are not on it so i feel like a lone ranger doing a monologue in there.

I'm also on Jaiku and Tumblr, but can't get enough people on board to use them too. Jaiku had some potential (but not a big user base) so I'm hoping that all the hype after SXSW will get more people onto FriendFeed...

What I liked about Jaiku was the "channels" - I'm sure FriendFeed will expand their functionality pretty quickly if we'd all get on board. So start using it!

Started using it, blogged about it, then forgot.

Tried out SocialThing, got socially schizophrenic, and am back to trying FF.

I want either to be able to import more contacts into FF like ST does, or have ST with more options.

Never satisfied, are we?

I have a Jaiku account; maybe I should check that out again.

I'm using it as a personal aggregator of _my_ activites, that is, I'm not really using its social network features.

I like it offers a global RSS feed of my stream, and its clean page style.

Nope. Like comment #7, if I did use it I would only have interest in it as an aggregator of MY activities. I couldn't care less about it from a social standpoint (the last thing I need is one more network to keep tabs on at this point.) I've been using Yahoo Pipes to setup my own custom "me" aggregate feed for awhile now. It might not be as custom-tailored for the task or as pretty, but once you start tinkering with it you realize how much you can use it with a lot of your other feeds as well.

I use Plaxo, which also covers Digg, but I wish it would handle Facebook info.

I have an account but don't typically sign in except to acknowledge when people subscribe to my feed. Friendfeed just isn't as useful to me as the socialthing! product. It takes too much effort to get any value from it.

I am using something different: Second Brain I like it.

There should be an option in the poll for "I'm signed up, but I'm probably only going to visit once a month to see if anyone else I know has joined yet because like all social sites, it's pretty boring until your homies show up."

I don't like it; it seems complex and time consuming to set up the accounts and Im not that interested in my friend's feeds.
