The recent news about Steve Jobs' health (and leave of absence) has caused a flurry of commentary and speculation. Can Apple survive without him? Is his health a private or public matter? Could he have been more forthcoming earlier? And what else isn't Apple telling us?

]]> Whatever my answers to those questions, I wish him all the best in his recovery. And for what it's worth, those answers are "yes", "a little of each", "I don't know", and "see below".

Well, I really wonder how useful Jobs was to Apple. Agreed, he is a great salesman, and presenter.. but there are far more important people in Apple, the ones who are actually responsible for the design and implementation of the great products Apple has.
So, with or without him, as long as these people strive, the world will be getting some amazing products.

Agreed, Urzut. However, Jobs is the spokesperson and somewhat a part of the branding for Apple. If his health raises issues, it certainly will effect the company value in some ways. My 2 cents...

Companies with massive amounts of cash on hand have problems: what to do with all this cash.
Putting it on the bank isn't bringing enough return due to low interest rates.

Apple need to spend it wisely for the shareholders.
As the visionary and leader of the gang has left, who will lead the gang with all this cash on hand.
