Do you have a great idea for an iPhone app but not the coding skills to actually build it? Well, there's an app for that. The AppIncubator iPhone App from MEDL Mobile lets you submit your ideas which the company's development team will then build into apps for you. Of course, as you probably imagined, they're going to take a cut of the profits. But what better way to build an iPhone app without actually having to do any work!

]]> The AppIncubator application is the first of its kind. With this app, anyone can be an iPhone "developer." After downloading and installing the app, you use its simple interface to submit your ideas to MEDL Mobile. Alternately, you can upload ideas via the company's web site. Once you receive your submission number, you can then use the storyboard tool found on the site to flesh out your thoughts even further.

After the app undergoes a series of tests and reviews which analyze the app's potential for revenue as well as its "originality, functionality, simplicity, and fun," the app will be built by the company's in-house development team. When complete, MEDL Mobile will promote and market the application for you. All you had to do was have the original idea.

Since the company is doing all the hard work of app building and promotion, it makes sense that they plan on taking a cut. However, 25 percent of the app's revenues is shared with the app's "creator" (you). Considering how little effort there was put forth on your part, that actually seems rather generous. Still, if you want to keep more than 25 percent, you can just hire the company to build the app for you instead.

As of 4-19-09 the amount they share with the submitter is only10%. Seems pretty was for them to take your idea and not give credit for the idea. r

This app is a joke. Those here who are praising it haven't
actually downloaded it, it seems.

I have.

As an earlier commentor said, it is nothing but a form,
*that is it*. You are asked to provide a bunch of personal info and then type-in your application idea, rank it based on certain categories and then submit.

Only 25% - 10% to the idea originator? And what guarantee
does one get have that their idea will not be abused? None, as they are not signing a NDA with you.

I downloaded this app and used it.
Their storyboard sucks, so I used my own, and submitted it.
However, I am withdrawing my idea after reading their Terms and Conditions.
There T&C's are illegal and they are headed for a major lawsuit unless they change them.
They CANNOT legally own YOUR idea just because you submit it to them. (Sony v Staff Members, 2002).
Also, if you withdraw your idea, they ascertain that they still get to keep your original idea.
Again, illegal.

Your idea is YOURS and NOT theirs!!
Also, the payout is a joke!! 25%? Purleeze!!
And even then, they don't pay out UNTIL they break even on the costs, and they don't inform you how much those costs will be.
You could be waiting a LONG time before you see any money from this fly-by-night company!

Although it does sound like a good idea, I have to agree that you have no guarantees that they will give you anything in the end. Looking at what they've done, there isn't anything impressive about their 2 programs, one of them being this one. I think its great that someone has thought about providing something like this since there are I'm sure many people out there with some great app ideas but do not or are not willing to learn how to program. It would be nice if someone would take this the distance and come up with a way for all of this to be a fair and legal deal.

Regarding their hypothetical 25% of after break even profits go, I do think it is a pretty fair number since you are coming up with the idea and not actually the product. Sure, it sounds easy, but try giving programming a shot and you'll understand how tough it is. If someone could come up with a better way to do this I'm definitely in and will work with a legit company on presenting ideas for creating some great, useful apps for the iPhone. This is a win win situation for everyone in that you get paid for the app idea, they get paid for making it a sellable product and the end user hopefully gets a fantastic program. I don't think I'll be dealing with this particular company but look forward to someone doing it right and providing all the legal information and documents.

Its only offered söve for a certain amount of time, the price is worth it just for the fact it teaches you how to make apps, but thats not it. it kartonpiyer also teaches you how to get them on the app store mantolama and make money from them.

This company is having a laugh and a half, mostly laughing at the people who trust them enough to send in their ideas!

If you have a good idea, save up and invest some money in it!

I can see major law suits popping up with this company. If the small print says they own your idea as soon as you send it in, obviously they aint looking out for you, they looking out for them selves with your help and mainly your idea.

And 25%? That alone is enough to make me laugh.

I think Appswell
is a better, more transparent tool for people to see their app ideas made into reality. Instead of just being a dumb, non-transparent suggestion box, it let's all of the sites users vote on their favorite ideas to pick winners. The company also pays a cash prize up front, as well as a share of the profit, and the app looks a whole lot better.
