Shortly after Montenegro gained independence in June of 2006, the ISO 3165 Maintenance Agency assigned the emerging nation the country code "ME." .Me is an official country domain for Montenegro. There is another country domain for Serbia which can be used in a different ways if you are enough creative. Domain is ".RS".
Some examples of still available .rs domains:
twitte.rs, cheat(e).rs, bestsell(e).rs,...

Could you at least TRY to make this sound a mite less like gratuitous (and OTT) advertising? I appreciate it's written by a sponsor, with "its unforgettable meaning and limitless word combinations", but the tone is just really offputting and doesn't sit well in this (mostly high-quality) blog.

This may well be a useful and interesting product, but the way they've tried to hype it it up here with meaningless superlatives has left me distinctly uninterested.

I registered one on my name, just because I don't want anyone else to register it :)
They had nice offering on godaddy for less than 10$, but it seems that this offering has expired and it's more expensive now :(

Those of you complaining about the marketing tone really need to get over it.

The post was clearly marked. If you don't like marketing, then why would you read a post where they've gone out of their way to say, "This is marketing"?

It helps pay for your enjoyment of the rest of the site.

What is it about the web that makes people act so entitled? Everywhere you look it's The Princess and the Pea.

Sure, it was light on content, but I, for one, actually found it interesting. And if it helps pay people's salaries, then... what are you complaining about? You take handouts and then bellyache. You're that lame uncle who "stops by" for a visit but stays for three months, eats all your food, and complains that, though most of what was in your fridge was tasty, there are some items you'd rather not have to deal with the next time you decide to attach yourself to their hospitality like a life-sucking sucker-fish thing that sucks.

Fo' shizzle. Come on. Learn to click Next or to read, comprehend, and then act in accordance with warning labels. Do you also eat that weird pellet preservative thing in the box of rice crackers that's clearly marked "DO NOT EAT"?

Maybe you should.

The one issue I'm having with .me domains is the fact that google webmaster won't let you set the geolocation of the domain to the United States, which proves to be an issue when trying to rank in local serps.
Anyways... just wondering if anybody else has had issue with ranking with a .me name

how stupid.

ti.me...... the only two letter .me is wp.me

google now allows you to set usa under web master tools the domain name was updated a couple of months ago so this should help with ranking
