Poll: What 3 Web Apps or Services Excite You Most?

One year ago today we first asked that question, so now is a good time to ask it again. What 3 web apps or services do you find the most exciting right now? Note that 'exciting' is the keyword, so they won't necessarily be your 3 favorite or most used web apps or services. For example Facebook would make many people's list of 3 favorite sites, but does it get you all tingly with excitement these days? So, what we want to know is: what 3 apps get your juices flowing right now.

We did an informal poll at the ReadWriteWeb office (actually a Skype room) and our picks are below. We'd love to know yours as well, so please leave a comment telling us the 3 web apps or services that excite you the most.

Amazon's Mechanical Turk - www.mturk.com - just starting to hit its stride!

Wordpress - continues to develop in to a full featured content management system and make millions of lives easier.

Dropbox - http://www.dropbox.com - file keep getting bigger and can't be emailed. This is so well implemented and easy to use.

I'm currently trying to think where threaded comments fit in the roadmap right now, but it is something that is definitely planned. We're not going to say people *have* to use threaded comments, but the system shouldn't restrict people who want to have that option. Plus for larger conversations I think threaded comments make everything easier to follow.

Google Voice It is really nice to be able to give you number out and then have a easy way to later block someone if needed.

Last.FM a great way to explore new music.

Google Wave Which has not even hit public beta yet. From what I seen in the I/O video it looks like it will change how we communicate, collaborate, have fun and do things that have not even been dreamed up yet by developers. I can't wait for my Wave invite!

Excitement? Insofar as the web can be exciting, rather than interesting or useful (that would be zoho and jobcentreplus and jobs.ac.uk, which are definitely not exciting)
metafilter and delicious for really amazing things. Enter a random word in delicious search and you get lots of links of which a good share are guaranteed to be awesome.

Ironically, Pre-Twitter, prior to Friends Feed, etc, it was amazing to connect to so many people instantaneously,in real time. While, the life stream connection is still fabulous,I presently find myself getting more excited about services that allow me to peace out of obligatory (public) communications. That being said, no Sizzling sexy answer from me...I love me some G-Mail, lately, why not, I control who sees what.

Nanovor - (Video Game) It is a Pokemon style Augmented Reality game targeted towards kids. I'm not the target demo, but the idea of a mainstream AR product is pretty exciting and suggests good things for the future.

Shapeways/Ponoko - (Video Game) The concept of these sites are exciting, though they still need some development. They are the first step from "Web 2.0" to "Web 3.D". When people can make things as easily as blog postings, the world will change quickly.

HTML 5 - More platform than app, but the potential of RIA's comparable to Flash that you can "View Source" for is really exciting.

Posterous (It's the easiest way to self-publish outside of social networks, even if I use Wordpress for most of my stuff)

Google Reader (It's not necessarily the best RSS reader, but the market share it has opens up lots of possibilities, and it's my main source of information every day)
