Susan Scrupski Joins ReadWriteWeb as VP Enterprise Content and Programs

By Richard MacManus / April 6, 2009 8:30 AM / Comments

UPDATE, 15 April 2009: Sadly this business relationship has not worked out as planned, therefore ReadWriteWeb and Susan Scrupski have decided to part ways. As Susan wrote on her blog this week, "It was important to make a clean cut sooner rather than later. We have all parted friends and hope to continue to work together on Enterprise-related projects."

I'm very pleased to announce that Susan Scrupski (a.k.a. "ITSinsider") has joined ReadWriteWeb as our VP Enterprise Content and Programs. Starting today, Susan will assume responsibility for building our editorial and expertise in applying the principals of Web 2.0 to the Enterprise. With a focus on how the Web is disrupting traditional business processes and operations, our Enterprise channel (which will soon be re-launched with a new design) will focus on new products, case studies, and innovative developments involving Web strategy and execution in a B2B context. Yes, B2B is back!

New RWW Writer: Phil Glockner

By Richard MacManus / March 1, 2009 11:21 PM / Comments

We'd like to welcome a new daily writer to our team of Web enthusiasts: Phil Glockner. Phil lives near Austin, Texas, and has been a part of the tech community there for over 10 years. He started his blog, Scribkin, after attending SXSW Interactive 2008. He's also been a contributer to Louis Gray's excellent blog. Phil will be a daily news writer for ReadWriteWeb, so expect to see a few posts a day from him during the weekdays. He'll also be attending SXSW 2009, along with our VP Content Dev Marshall Kirkpatrick.

ReadWriteWeb Gets a COO: Bernard Lunn

By Richard MacManus / December 1, 2008 6:00 AM / Comments

I'm very pleased to announce that Bernard Lunn has joined ReadWriteWeb full-time as our Chief Operating Officer. Starting today, Bernard will assume responsibility for most of the non-editorial functions of our business - sales, business development and other operational matters. This allows me to re-focus on leading our editorial, including doing more writing! I will still be running the business, but Bernard will take a lot of pressure off me by running our sales and business development operations. He will also be leading our 'channel' strategy.

AltSearchEngines and last100 Go Indie

By Richard MacManus / November 3, 2008 7:31 PM

Admin announcement: ReadWriteWeb has made a strategic decision to disband our network, meaning that our two separately branded network blogs AltSearchEngines and last100 are going independent.

The reason ReadWriteWeb has made this decision is to focus on building and extending our core ReadWriteWeb brand. The first fruits of this strategy were the Enterprise Channel (launched in August) and our new Jobwire product (launched last week). We have more channels and products in the pipeline.

Announcing a Major New ReadWriteWeb Project: The Jobwire

By Marshall Kirkpatrick / October 28, 2008 9:59 AM / Comments

jobwiretinylogo2.jpgWe're excited to introduce today the launch of a new content channel here at ReadWriteWeb. It's called the ReadWriteWeb Jobwire and it's a site dedicated to reporting on people who have been hired for new jobs in tech, new media and related companies.

We've been working on it for months, well before the current economic climate unfolded, but we're hoping that a whole site of good news will serve our readers well in these troubled times. Companies are still hiring, people are still getting cool new jobs, and we're going to report on it. We invite you to check out the new Jobwire site to meet the Jobwire team, learn about our special guest editors and check out some of the great new jobs people have landed lately! ReadWriteWeb Lance Une Version Française

By Richard MacManus / October 16, 2008 8:52 PM / Comments

Parlez-vous français? No neither do I, apart from the smattering of French I learnt at the beginning of high school. But to cater to our friends in Europe, we've just opened a French language version of ReadWriteWeb. The idea was suggested by Romain Péchard, who approached us about translating our articles into French and also writing unique content about the Europe web scene. Romain and his team have basically taken the ball and rolled with it (prendre le ballon et a roulé avec lui), designing and organizing the new site.

RWW France will be covering the Web 2.0 Expo Berlin 2008 next week and they have tickets to give away if you're one of our European readers.

ReadWriteWeb Expands Silicon Forest Empire - Rick Turoczy Joins Us

By Richard MacManus / October 7, 2008 12:50 AM / Comments

Our newest writer started tonight, Rick Turoczy - who many of you will know from his tech blog Silicon Florist. Rick is yet another RWW writer who hails from Portland, Oregon, USA. Marshall Kirkpatrick and Frederic Lardinois are also from that city. According to Wikipedia, Silicon Forest refers to "the cluster of high tech companies located in the Portland metropolitan area". Obviously ReadWriteWeb deems it of strategic importance to have a dominant presence in Silicon Forest, in terms of tech bloggers.

New York Times Syndicates ReadWriteWeb

By Richard MacManus / September 23, 2008 2:00 PM / Comments

The New York Times announced today that it will syndicate ReadWriteWeb content, as part of a re-designed Technology section on its website. Over the coming weeks you will see ReadWriteWeb content incorporated into the Technology section front.

This is great news for us, because it brings our brand of web technology news, reviews and analysis to a much wider audience. It also means that the innovative and often little known startups we write about daily get a chance to be seen in a mainstream publication. The New York Times has a reputation for quality and in-depth journalism, attributes that we strive for on ReadWriteWeb - so we're excited about this partnership.

By Richard MacManus / July 31, 2008 7:00 PM / Comments

I'm very pleased to announce that Marshall Kirkpatrick has joined ReadWriteWeb in a full-time capacity, as our new Vice President of Content Development. The grand title reflects Marshall's senior position within ReadWriteWeb, where he will be responsible for driving a lot of our upcoming content developments. These include premium content, publishing system enhancements, and more magic things. Marshall will also continue to be ReadWriteWeb's Lead Writer, so don't worry his writing isn't taking a backseat at all. He will be going full-time at RWW sometime over the next couple of weeks.
