Electronic Voting 2.0

Written by Rob Cottingham / November 2, 2008 12:17 AM / 5 Comments

Living in Canada, I've been spared the joy of voting using Diebold's (now Premier Election Solutions') notorious machines. Given their track record, maybe it's time to consider another vendor - maybe someone with a huge installed base and a reputation for engaging, fun interfaces.

I'm thinking Nintendo. Wii-lections, anyone?

  4. @Adam - Insanity. It'll never work.

@Richard - We're halfway there in B.C.: optical scanning machines reading the ballots. Probably explains why a write-in candidate named "SkyNet" has been creeping up in recent years...

  5. Wii-elections, get me registered to vote! Too bad I'm not American or old enough to vote.

Here's to not letting go of the Wiimote and accidentally voting for the banner again.
