We interviewed Google's Derek Slater at the SanFran MusicTech Summit yesterday. Slater is a Policy Analyst at Google and in our interview he discusses net neutrality, copyright and other public policy issues Google deals with on a daily basis.
Derek Slater now runs public policy for Google, but before that he worked with the Berkman Center and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

This was a good interview, however, when dealing with the controversial Net Neutrality debate, always discuss the other side of the issue.
The opposition's perspectives are as passionate and valid
Very good interview. Good to know what's going on in the background.
Thanks for commenting, @public relations but I have to disagree with you. This is a one-person interview with Derek Slater. He gives his point of view. It is not a news story that looks at the different angles on the issue. I would be glad to interview someone who supports a tiered Internet. I'd prefer it be a policy analyst with a big telecommunications or technology company that supports a marketplace for such a toll booth approach.
Sorry, Public, but I agree with Alex here. I think your off your rocker on that last comment in regards to the telcos.
Hey Alex, thanks for posting this interview. It's always good to see "inside the castle" to get a better idea of how and what people at Google are thinking.
"Copyright should benefit the public" Where does that come from? Never mind. I know where it came from.
Why can't FSF guys just call it like it is? "We don't believe that copyright laws apply on the internet." Period. Say another word, and the hypocrisy makes me retch.
