Robert Scoble swears off tech.memeorandum for a week, due to excessive snark in the Sunday edition:
"...it’s the little things in life that make you smarter. The little things don’t show up on Memeorandum. They do show up on RSS. Which is why I’m still subscribed to 847 smart people’s feeds."

I don’t think the problem is Memeorandum or news trackers per se, but then maybe Gabe could tweak the algorithm to weed out the flame wars and other stuff that isn't "tech". It’s not news, after all…

In that sense, Megite does better:
1) Megite auto discovers new blogs, not just A-list
2) Megite doesn't require the link analysis, it ranks the story based on text analysis too.
3) Megite can be customized with your OPML file (or personal feeds).
Ah yes Richard, but is "news" what people want to read all the time? Maybe people do want to keep up with the flame wars. One man's flame war is another woman's robust debate.
That's a good point Paul, although personally I try to stay focused on tech news while I'm on a site like tech.meme (or megite). The operative word is "try"... :-)
Well, my bias aside, I think this was news...whether or not Robert thinks it was or not. Barcamp has been largely ignored by the 'power tech' community. But even Doc 'discovered' the grassroots movement that is happening and found it very informative and intersting.
There is more news to technology than...erm...the technology itself. There is context. We really shouldn't be weeding that out.
But that's just my opinion...I like context.
