Comedy website The Onion has released an iPhone application called The Onion Microfiche Reader. It's pretty cool. The app lets you flip through very short joke-headlines in an interface that looks like the old microfiche readers. There's no satire news stories associated, just funny headlines. The Onion understands that "you must be very busy to have such an important phone."
The app also offers easy download of the company's video and audio podcasts and easy sharing on Facebook and Twitter. It's definitely worth the 99 cents they are charging for it. Unless you're broke, in which case don't bother.

Will this "flip through the stories" application end up making more money than Google's too-serious (yet light-weight) Fast Flip, launched yesterday? That doesn't seem outside the realm of possibilities.

Hey it looks goood....
As a huge fan of Onion, I am glad to hear that they can now bring a smile to people's faces with their new i Phone application. When I get an iPhone, this is the first application I am going to install.
That's really amazing, It's a good application launched by onion and the extra feature of downloading video and audio files makes it more convenient....
Onion invades mobile world too. By focusing on producing real time news headlines Onion gives a real time information within seconds. It helps to reduce to search for the news articles.
Just installed The Onion iPhone application, it's available here in the UK for £0.59. It has Facebook Connect and Twitter integration in the settings and the ability to turn off the irritating Sound FX!
Seems to be very useful app!!!
