A July Pew report indicated that 57% of U.S. internet users have watched videos online and most of them share what they find with others. The 18-29 age group, at 76%, watches the most online video. Our network blog last100 further reported that 19% of adults watch online video on a typical day.
News is the most popular genre of online video with every age group except for those ages 18-29, for whom comedy is watched more. YouTube is the most popular destination, with 27% of online video consumers saying they watch or download video from YouTube.
It's on that latter point that this week's poll will revolve. Read/WriteWeb readers are likely to use a larger variety of online video sites than the Pew audience, so we're curious what the results of this poll will be. Note that there are literally hundreds of video sharing sites on the Web - we listed a lot of them in our February Online Video Index. So we can't hope to include them all. But shout out in the comments if your favorite online video site isn't in the list.

I go to veoh.com, which I think is superior to youtube because of quality.

I normally love hanging around on Viddler.com - also love Vimeo. Youtube is ok video wise, but for any community or discussion, it's just your typical digg-like crowd with nothing better to do than insult.
Voted "other".

are torrent sites not fitting in this category? that's my other vote

I usually view videos online on YouTube, Google Videos, Yahoo!.
In India broadband access is still in its nascent stages, therefore, in order to share the videos I download them (using keepvid.com and grab++) and burn them to discs/usb drives and then share with people in my friend circle..

I'm highly interested in online video content on news sites. It's a big advantage to watch news, reportages or broadcasts independently from tv transmissions at a particular time. On my list are:
- Germany's most important news channels ARD and ZDF with only video content
- youtube for all the music videos and several other contents
- some video on demand services (best way to stop the use of movie-p2p so far ;-)
Online Video is for me the most important thing in 06/07, because it enables unbelievable capacities of networks and storage and also gives the possibility to connect people and their impressions all over the world together.

I also use Veoh. I'm surprised it's not on the poll.

I love AOL's old TVs shows, like Kung Fu. But I'm surprised Brightcove isn't on the list. They're fantastic.

Mefeedia.com - because it brings in video from 15,000 video sites so you can spend the day watching instead of finding.

Watching and downloading require 2 different answers from me. I watch stuff on YouTube all the time, but I download from torrents and usenet, as well as Google video.
Also, you didn't mention tv-links, which is also a great place to watch vids.

You have not mentioned Glumbert, which I like for the way it rationalizes content delivery by just giving you the best of the selected and then a choice between the worst videos that day or the best.
You also have not mentioned PandoraTV, which I have written to you about in a couple of emails. But that's okay, because the site is still in Korean and won't launch into an English language version until September.
It will have HD uploading capability and a powerful global user-generated content search engine that can search across video databases.
write to me for more info, sir.

I mostly use YouTube to watch videos. There are only two video sharing sites in my favorites list:
1). YouTube
2). Veoh
BTW, surprised to realize that Veoh hasn't been included in the poll. It really is a wonderful video sharing site.
