This week's poll complements our special series on Online Music. We're asking what is your number 1 favorite music streaming service on the Web. With this poll there are bound to be sites that aren't on the list, but which are somebody's favorite. We've included as many of the major services as we could remember, but do shout out in the comments if there's an obvious omission.
Listed below are links to blogs that reference this entry: Poll: Your Favorite Streaming Music Service.

Just a quick update to this week's poll, which is already rocking. The question is: What is your favorite online music service? Right now last.fm and Pandora are nearly neck and neck in the vote, followed by Yahoo Music. But... Read More

www.tunefeed.com is a pretty good streaming music service!
Posted by: jonathan | August 12, 2007 11:27 PMeMusic isn't really a streaming service, but it is the best. Very cheap, no DRM, easy to use.
People truly making a principled stand against DRM would support companies like eMusic instead of just stealing music. Me, I just like the service and hadn't enjoyed the DRM buying experience in the past.
Posted by: Morgan | August 13, 2007 12:05 AMwww.sofaspace.ch - my favourite chillout station
Posted by: abraxas | August 13, 2007 12:06 AMwww.ezmo.com - I can stream my own music and my friends' as well. (Not available in the US, though).
Posted by: Petter | August 13, 2007 1:48 AMFairtilizer!
Posted by: Radnad | August 13, 2007 1:48 AMI really like Live365. It has a much wider range of music to choose from.
Posted by: Isabelle Fetherston | August 13, 2007 5:55 AMI'm surprised FineTune was left off the list! That's my player of choice.
Posted by: Andrew White | August 13, 2007 5:56 AMI've voted for AOL Music, though what I really use is Shoutcast, which is powered by it.
Posted by: Jay Neely | August 13, 2007 6:29 AMblogmusik.net
Posted by: zack | August 13, 2007 6:43 AMI can't believe Live365 wasn't listed! It's the only one you can stream over your computer, your handheld (Treo or...), and your TiVo (if networked).....................
Posted by: Tina | August 13, 2007 7:35 AMHype Machine and blogmusik have been pretty good for me...
Posted by: dboy | August 13, 2007 8:26 AM
Posted by: victor | August 13, 2007 8:37 AMFor me it was pandora, but it's no more working in Europe ... fuc...
And just FYI I'm currently trying to create Musiic.net to syndicate some music services. You can check it here at http://www.musiic.net
Favorite currently is Finetune.
I like Last.fm, but I was using Yahoo's Launchcast years ago and have my station so well dialed-in there I still actually use it more.
Posted by: RustyS | August 13, 2007 8:44 AMI voted for Pandora, but I like last.fm almost as much, which is why I actually use a mashup of the two called PandoraFM
Posted by: Deepak | August 13, 2007 8:46 AMI voted for last.fm. It's simple and I like it a lot. I use to use Pandora, but I live in Canada and we don't have it anymore.
Posted by: Jess | August 13, 2007 9:09 AMI too was surprised to see eMusic on the list, because I know it as a music store, not a streaming service (is there an eMusic app I don't know about?). On the other hand, I think Songbird warrants a mention.
Posted by: Shawn Smith | August 13, 2007 10:44 AMRichard, I think "MOGG" might have an extra "G" in it. Understandable tho... I am also a disciple of Snoop Dogg's school of spelling.
Anyhow, my favorites outside this list are:
1.) imeem.com
Posted by: Bryan | August 13, 2007 11:47 AM2.) Hype Machine
3.) skreemr.com
4.) Project Playlist
Though I'm a last.fm subscriber, I still like finetune much more than last.fm . I wonder why such an amazing site like finetune isn't a part of the poll. :)
Posted by: Avinash | August 13, 2007 12:40 PMGo to anywhere.fm
Posted by: dumpster | August 13, 2007 12:58 PMYou can upload all of your music then listen to it from anywhere with an internet connection.
Hi folks, thanks all for your feedback so far. Based on that:
1) I've added FineTune and Live365, as they were mentioned several times in the comments.
2) I removed eMusic, as it is not a streaming service.
Posted by: Richard MacManus | August 13, 2007 1:04 PMYouTube. I've started using my YouTube music video playlist as my online streaming audio source.
Posted by: Mark Maruska | August 13, 2007 2:00 PMI use soundpedia.com, although they are upgrading their service this month. You can listen to any of their songs and create your own playlists. I'm not sure how this could be profitable for them as I'm sure they would have to pay a lot of royalties.
Posted by: Jeremy | August 13, 2007 6:14 PMI don't know about streaming content, But I do like soulseek where you can share your music with other people for free. I find with streaming music I cannot find the punk bands I like at least with soulseek I can get the music I like and create a list I want to listen to instead of the top 40 crap
Posted by: David Siembab | August 14, 2007 1:47 AMHi,
Posted by: musana | August 14, 2007 2:08 AMI sure hope you will do this again soon as Musana will participate in such a poll. See ya.

RadioNigel.com
Just discovered it the other day. It is one of the original 91X (San Diego Alternative/New Wave) DJs from the 80s, playing all the good stuff from then!
