  1. I think the diggers are products of their community and not vise-versa. I don't think Calacanis' scheme will work in any meaningful way.

  2. Good point Ted. And to be clear, I think the blogosphere long tail (of status) is similar to digg's. So I'm not picking on digg here, it's just a fact of life on the Web that there are social structures in which relatively few have status. Which is a general topic that Tom Wolfe always writes about, hence my reference in the first sentence...
