During the weekend we asked for feedback from readers and startups alike, about how your favorite web apps perform on the iPhone. The early feedback mostly reported issues with AT&T getting the service up and running - e.g. Orlando commented that he bought the iphone on Friday at 7:00 pm, but "till now AT&T has not activated the phone."
It's a few days later and we're starting to get more stories about how web apps perform on the iPhone. Qipit, an online service that allows you to copy, fax, email and publish documents, confirmed that their app is compatible with the iPhone. And another report came through this morning from Meebo, the browser-based IM platform. Their report (via email to R/WW):
"The meebo team was super excited to get our hands on the iPhone Friday night after our office manager’s son (Anthony) and his buddies camped out at the AT&T store in Mountain View.
Anthony shot over to meebo and we began testing ASAP. Two showstoppers were discovered:
- First, you couldn’t launch an IM window by tapping on a friend in your buddy list.
- Second, once you got an IM window open, the ‚ÄúEnter‚Ä? key didn‚Äôt send a message.
The development team spent some time and came up with a couple quick fixes. meebo now works on the iPhone, but it‚Äôs definitely not perfect. Let‚Äôs call it a ‚Äúpre-Alpha‚Ä?. :)"

The Meebo team said are working on improving their app on iPhone, but they also say they need "more developer information from Apple".
Please share your stories on how your web app (if you're a startup) or your favorite web app (if you're a user) work on the iPhone. In particular what is your experience of the 'pinching' interface and zooming navigation - i.e. using your fingers instead of a mouse or stylus?

Oh that gorgeous high-resolution widescreen. It invites you to touch it - which is just as well, given that's how you interact with the iPhone.
