Plenty of interest this week in our poll, asking which online collaboration platform do you use? So far, after over 1,100 votes, Google Apps is way out in front - 47% of respondents use it. Basecamp is next with 20%, with Zoho on 10% and ThinkFree 6%. The two Microsoft options, Office Groove and Office Live, have only 2% each. Sign of the times, ay?
There's still time to cast your vote; and remember that the poll is multiple-choice.

Ulteo Connected Desktop from ulteo "Sirius" Alpha1 + Gandi webmail beta (with my domain name)...

Posted by: Rory | June 14, 2007 7:15 AMOffice Groove and Office Live. Uhm. Never heard of them. Show's how much marketing power Microsoft has.
Posted by: Don V. | June 14, 2007 7:43 AMGroove was just purchased by Microsoft two years ago, wasn't developed in-house, and is only included in the highest end versions of Office 2007. It's no wonder nobody uses it... and has nothing to do with marketing power.
Anyway, my online collaboration platform is this thing called "email", occasionally with a "code repository" (CVS/Subversion/SourceDepot).

I think you mean half of the R/WW readers who
a) use *any* online collaboration app
b) filled in the questionnaire.
I for one don't use any, and there just wasn't an appropriate choice in the list so I couldn't vote :-)
Posted by: Els | June 14, 2007 1:10 PM(I'd be interested to know how many of the R/WW readers use any online collaboration app at all, really - are they a minority, majority, 50% ?)
That's a good point Els! I didn't put in a "none" option :-( Maybe a follow-on poll is in order to find out the answer to your question...
Posted by: Richard MacManus | June 14, 2007 1:14 PMGoogle aps is great- although one of our investees pointed out a horrible bug today- if you log in whilst traveling it tends to give you pages in the language of the country you're visiting with no way out!
A different investee, yuuguu (www.yuuguu.com has put together a free screensharing service- I think these types of tool have an important place- particularly where the reduced functionality is important and you're dealing with realtime collaboration.
Posted by: Ed French | June 14, 2007 2:38 PMIt's pushing it to call this a "collaboration tool" but we also use Elementool. It's crap though. Almost as awful as Base Camp, but that's another story.
Posted by: Jonathan | June 15, 2007 2:09 AMWe use our own tool, Vertabase Pro.
Posted by: Mark Phillips | June 16, 2007 7:26 PMI've started using www.openeffort.com. They offer a nice chapter structure of the documents you create and different collaboration models.
