Office.com: The Future Home of Microsoft Office 2010 Online

The news of Microsoft Office 2010 confirmed what many suspected: Microsoft will be offering a free online version of Office to compete with all of the SaaS suites out there. Thanks to some WHOIS sleuthing by istartedsomething, we now also know where it will reside. Office.com is likely to be the home of the SaaS Microsoft Office.
The Web-based beta of Office 2010 isn't out yet, but those who are dissatisfied with Google Docs and Zoho should keep a close eye on Office.com. The site is currently in transition, but the WHOIS record clearly shows that someone in Redmond has taken the time to register the domain:
