Becky Carroll, who also teaches at UC San Diego Extension on Marketing via New Media, has been hired by the social media advertising network Brickfish. Carroll will be the company's new Director of Social Media.
Brickfish is a San Diego, California based networking site that hosts regular competitions, or "campaigns" featuring art and design. These contests, often sponsored by music and fashion companies or political groups, offer prizes of scholorships, cash prizes and trips. Tommy Hilfiger recently launched a Brickfish campaign based on his woman's fragrance, Dreaming.
Becky Carroll's resume is impressive, having been President of Petra Consulting Group, Senior Consultant at Peppers and Rogers Group and Director of Marketing at HP (UK and Ireland).
According to Red Herring, Brickfish has recieved $11.2 million in funding as of Feburary, 2007.
