Brightcove's announcement this week to pull the plug on its free on-demand video service rubbed a few customers the wrong way. The company will now focus solely on premium/paid accounts and three of its recent hires reflect this new strategy.
There's a tidal wave of changes being made to BrightCove ecosystem on LinkedIn. There we found news of the following.
Mike Quinn, formerly of FAST is now Senior VP, Sales - Americas Region. Mark Harpur, formerly of Webtrends, is the new Regional Director of Sales Engineering, and Robert Fisher, with a background in sales for a number of technology companies, including FAST, is a Sales Executive.
Additionally, after several years as SVP at Adobe Systems and Macromedia, David Mendels joined Brightcove's Board of Directors. Lynn Noel, who was last at GotVMail Communications, is also new to the company and is a Project Manager.
