SAP_logo.jpgJohn Wookey, a former Senior Vice President of Applications Development at Oracle jumped ship 13 months ago. Recently, he was hired by German rival SAP.

At Oracle, John Wookey was a key figure in their Fusion Applications strategy, which combines elements of the vendor's various business software lines into a new suite. Wookey is said to have clashed with Oracle CEO Larry Ellison one too many times, prompting his departure. In Wookey's new role at SAP, he will be Executive Vice President of Large Enterprise On Demand. He will develop product strategies for the online delivery of applications to large corporate customers.

Headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, SAP is the largest European software enterprise and the fourth largest in the world. SAP employs more than 51,800 people in more than 50 countries. Today the software giant released their first sustainability report. The report will begin to define and discuss key sustainability issues for the company.

Early last year, Oracle sued SAP for theft of it's software. This latest development is sure to add fuel to the fire.
