Dimdim, an open source web conferencing company, has hired Kevin Micalizzi to be their new Community Manager.
Funded by Index Ventures, Dimdim provides a free web conferencing service that allows you to share your desktop, show slides, collaborate, chat, talk and broadcast via webcam. There are absolutely no downloads required for attendees.
We wrote extensively about Dimdim's strategy this Spring.
Kevin Micalizzi was a Manager of Web Strategy & Development and Web Project Manager at Avid Technology for more than three years. He was also an Independent Consultant at HeiterConnect, Inc. and a Web Engineer Manager at IBM Rational Software.

I want to suggest you try http://www.showdocument.com - its an alternative tool for dimdim that allows document sharing and web meeting in real-time. all the participants in the session see each others' drawing, highlights, etc. It is free and requires no installation.
