Consumer electronics superstore Best Buy announced on their Remix Developer Blog that they have hired Keith Burtis to be their Remix Community Manager. Remix is the new open API project for Best Buy. The company is hoping to build its affiliate and embedded links business.
Burtis is the owner of MagicWoodworks. Before joining Best Buy he was Media Producer/ Contractor at Elastic Lab. He lives in Snyder, New York.
Best Buy has embraced social media for some time now. In October, ReadWriteWeb reported that the company rolled out its "enterprise Twitter" and now they are part of a growing trend of companies hiring community managers.
