San Diego, California based digital media company DivX today announced changes to it's organization. Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Markus Moenig has resigned effective December 1st. He plans "to return overseas and explore new entrepreneurial opportunities". Jim Reesman, Vice President of Engineering, will now lead DivX's global engineering organization.
Reesman has held two other positions at DivX, Vice President of Engineering and Director of Software Engineering. Before that, he was Lead Engineer/Architect at LogicVision.
DivX is "a digital media company that enables consumers to enjoy a high-quality video experience across any kind of device". In 2007, the company acquired MainConcept AG, a provider of H.264 and other video technologies for the broadcast, film, consumer electronics and computer software markets.
