Sched.org Makes its First Hire

Written by Marshall Kirkpatrick / December 15, 2008 5:50 PM / 2 Comments

SCHEDlogo.jpgYou may remember Sched.org, the unofficial social scheduling app that many people used at the last two SXSW music and internet festivals. Did you know the service is now being custom built for paying customers? We didn't, but we were excited to hear from founder Taylor McKnight this evening that Sched has made its first hire. Starting January 1st Marvin McTaw will be doing full time business development so Sched founders McKnight and Chirag Mehta can refocus on product development.

McTaw recently got laid off from JP Morgan - haven't we been waiting to hear stories about finance pros getting scooped up by brand new startups?

McKnight and Mehta have long collaborated on a number of fascinating projects, see today's profile of their latest, TheLaughButton, today on ReadWriteWeb.

We love stories about first hires by plucky startups and we're very excited for this trio now working together on Sched.org.

  1. Thx for reminding me I need to make plans for SXSW. Will be my first time there. I'm giddy with excitement.

  2. It is probably because there are plenty of former bank dudes to go around these days :)
