Mountain View, California internet media and e-commerce company SourceForge, announced this morning that they have hired Scott Kauffman to be their new President and CEO. He will begin his new leadership role January 5, 2009.
Kauffman has been a busy man. In the last seven years, he was President and CEO of PopTok, COO at BlueLithium (acquired by Yahoo) and CEO of Zinio, MusicNow and Coremetrics.
SourceForge is the parent company of Slashdot, ThinkGeek, Freshmeat and Linux.com. They combine user-developed content, online marketplaces and e-commerce to exchange information, goods and open source software distribution and services.
