Founded in 2007, The Linux Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the growth of Linux. Today the Foundation announced that Ted Ts'o has been named its new Chief Technology Officer. Known as the developer of the first North American Linux kernel, Ts'o is one of the "most highly regarded members of the Linux and open source community".
Ts'o has been a Linux Foundation fellow since 2007. He has been a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM since 2001 and will return there after this two-year fellowship at The Linux Foundation.
