Santa Monica-based startup Tsavo Media, headed by former Userplane CEO Michael Jones, recently hired Ryan Sit to the post of VP of Special Projects. Sean Percival, Tsavo's Director of content whose hiring we reported back in October, publicized the addition yesterday via Twitter.
Ryan Sit comes to Tsavo with a track record of founding a number of we startups that we have covered on Read/WriteWeb including Favtape, Picclick and Swurl. Ryan intends on keeping his Freestyle Labs personal side projects and experiments running; many of which have resulted in the startups he has founded.
Sit has also worked on recent Tsavo properties including Daymix and Twithority. Daymix attempts to show the latest aggregated information on search terms; descriptions, talk, news, blogs, photos, videos, related sections all in one place while Twithority is a Twitter search engine that presents results ranked based on the authority and recency of the tweet.
Tsavo has been staffing their team like mad and we reported just yesterday on the hiring of former FriendFeed maven Mona Nomura. Tsavo has also been filling their executive executive team with talent with pedigrees like Userplane, AOL, TechTV, Intuit, Myspace as well as many others.

After looking at this company's web site and related links for the past 15 minutes, I still have no idea what they do. Ah, smoke and mirrors.
