W3C's HTML Working Group Announces Leadership Changes

W3C_logo.jpgInternational web standards organization W3C co-chair Michael(tm) Smith announced today, "there will be a change in the leadership for the HTML Working Group". Sam Ruby has been appointed as a new co-chair. He will be joining co-chair Chris Wilson beginning January 5th. Smith will return to his previous role as the W3C staff contact for the group.

Ruby is currently a Senior Technical Staff Member in the Emerging Technologies Group at IBM. He has made significant contributions to many of the Apache Software Foundation's open source software projects.

W3C is a consortium. Member organizations maintain full-time staff and work together to develop standards for the World Wide Web.
