Former Chicago Sun-Times sports columnist Jay Mariotti will join AOL Sports as a national columnist beginning this morning. Mariotti resigned from Chicago's second largest newspaper this August after 17 years there. He will continue to be a regular panelist on ESPN's Around The Horn.
Prior to Mariotti's work with ESPN, he co-hosted a daily sports talk radio program with AP sports writer Jim Litke on One on One Sports/Sporting News Radio.
Promos for Mariotti's Monday debut began appearing Sunday on AOLSports.com and AOL's FanHouse.com sites. Mariotti's hire is part of "an initiative to ramp up its original content in advance of a redesign and official re-launch this month".
