Last month we reported that software developer VMWare had hired a General manager for the EMEA region. Today TechFlash reports that former Microsoft manager Tod Nielsen has been hired to be the company's first ever Chief Operating Officer. Nielson will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Maritz.
Nielson was President and Chief Executive Officer of Borland Software Corporation prior to joining VMWare. Before that he held various executive positions with Microsoft, BEA and Oracle.
