Former Mashable Associate Editor Mark "Rizzn" Hopkins has been very busy lately. In a phone chat today, Hopkins tells me he is working on John Furrier's new blog called siliconANGLE. This exciting new project is a "collaboration blog for friends and colleagues" that will cover social Web and tech topics. "Rizzn" is also working with the Dalai Lama and Stanford University on a project involving neuroscience and will be covering SXSW this year for a couple of different blogs.
Hopkins was happy to announce that he has received enough sponsorship to be able to go to SXSW this year and will be doing some video interviews and posting on his own blog, siliconAngle and The Inquisitor.
Be sure to check out Kara Swisher's post about the siliconANGLE launch yesterday and also read Hopkins' first post there, Mr. Youth's 5 Rules for the Consumer 2.0.

I remember Mark from Mashable and I like the idea of him teaming up with John Furrier who I have been reading for some time. I just checked out that site and I really like that approach. It's the kind of community that blogging needs.
It's a good complement to RWW.
Thanks - we're not really out to slay the big boys, there's enough coverage in that particular space with a wide variety of opinions. SA's goal is to dig a little deeper, undertake some deeper thought that's only loosely tied to the news cycle, and encourage some cross-chat across the various silos.
