Popular social networking site Facebook has been widely criticized for its privacy policy. In an effort to address these issues, the company has decided to hire Timothy D. Sparapani, a senior attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, as its first ever Public Policy Director. Sparapani will officially join Facebook in April. He will work from Washington and report to Facebook Chief Privacy Officer Chris Kelly, who is expected to take a leave of absence in June to run for California Attorney General.
