Gerry Campbell Joins Real-Time Search Engine Collecta as CEO

Collecta_logo.jpgSearch veteran Gerry Campbell spent several years with AOL working in their search unit and before that he worked for early search engine Alta Vista. He was an advisor to Summize, which was bought last year by Twitter. Most recently he was President and Global Head of Search & Content Technologies at news giant Reuters. Today "real time" search engine Collecta announced that it has hired Campbell to be its new Chief Executive Officer. The company promises to deliver content within minutes after a search is entered but Campbell does not claim the service is a "Google killer" or will replace standard web searches.

Campbell is currently Founder, Venture Advisor and Angel Investor at Frequency Capital Advisory, LLC.. Before joining Reuters in 2006, he was Senior Vice President of AOL Search at America Online, Inc.. Before that he was Co-founder and VP Marketing at Bounce Networks.
