Hearst Hires Former NBC Digital Chief

HearstCorporation_logo.gifToday the Hearst Corporation, one of the world's largest diversified media companies, announced that it has hired former NBC Universal Chief Digital Officer George Kliavkoff to run digital operations for Hearst entertainment head Scott Sassa. Kilavkoff is known for helping NBC launch the hugely popular online video site Hulu and will be charged with bringing Hearst into the Digital Age.

Kliavkoff had been Chief Digital Officer of NBC Universal since August, 2006. Before that he was Senior Vice President of Business Development at Major League Baseball Advanced Media.

Earlire today, Hearst property The Seattle Post-Intelligencer announced that it will stop printing it's newspaper and shift to online content only. This is the largest American newspaper to do go completely digital so far.
