Nineteen year old Kiwi Owen Thor Walker was the subject of a US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) cyber crime investigation in 2007. The admitted ringleader of an international ring of hackers who designed and planted "botnets" to wreak havoc on computers in The United States, Europe and New Zealand went straight and now he has a legitimate job.
Walker is now on the payroll at New Zealand's second largest telecommunications company TelstraClear. He signed a contract to provide the New Zealand subsidiary of Telstra with seminars linked to an online security product known as DMZGlobal.
