In a rather cryptic Twitter update, Google design lead Dustin Diaz announced today that he is joining flavor-of-the-week Twitter as its new Creative Director. Another former Googler, Douglas Bowman revealed in a blog post last month that he was leaving Google and gave some compelling reasons why the company is not attractive to cutting edge designers. There is some speculation that Diaz may have felt the same way.
