TheWhiteHouse_logo.jpgToday former Google.org global development head Sonal Shah was appointed to head the new White House Office of Social Innovation. The new office will fall under the Domestic Policy Council, "a body that coordinates domestic policymaking in the White House" and is lead by Melody Barnes. No further details were given.

Previously Shah was Head of Global Development Initiatives at Google's philanthropic arm Google.org. She was appointed to the Obama-Biden Transition Project in November, 2008. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is currently an Advisory Board Member for the Presidential Transition Team and an Advisory Board at the Clinton Global Initiative.
