After a frenzy of recruiting former Yahoo! executives, Microsoft has decided to pillage other top tech companies to satisfy its hunger for executive talent. The Redmond, Washington software giant confirmed today that it has hired former Sun Microsystems Fellow and Chief Technology Officer Marc Tremblay to be its new "Distinguished Engineer". At press time there were no details about Tremblay's job description.
Tremblay was an 18 year veteran at Sun and has been awarded more patents than any other Sun employee. He was instrumental in many of the Sun microprocessor designs, including the company's Sparc line of chips.
Be sure to get more information about this latest high-profile Microsoft hire from CNET News, including word that "Microkernel expert Jonathan Shapiro is also joining Microsoft to work on the company's secretive Midori project".
