The U.S. Department of State announced today that it has appointed One Economy co-founder Alec Ross to be its new Senior Adviser on Innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Ross will be charged with "using technology to enhance the department's diplomatic missions in areas such as health care, poverty, and human rights".
Ross is the Executive Vice President for External Affairs and Co-Founder of nonprofit technology organization One Economy. He served as an adviser to the Obama Transition Team on the Technology, Innovation, and Government Reform Policy Working Group. Prior to founding One Economy in July, 2000 Alec served as Special Assistant to the President of The Enterprise Foundation.
