Earlier today there were reports that Silicon Valley gossip site Valleywag Managing Editor Owen Thomas was leaving parent company Gawker Media, reportedly for a job with NBC. Just moments ago Valleywag announced that they will replace him with former Night Editor Ryan Tate.
According to Valleywag, Tate "started his journalism career at mags like Upside and Business 2.0 before the dot-com boom went bust. He joined Gawker last year from San Francisco Business Times".
