ReadWriteWeb Real-Time Web Coverage

ReadWriteWeb has been a leader in covering the rise of the real-time web. Here are a few of our most important articles on the topic.

Topic: The Real-Time Web

Please join us for a day-long interactive conversation between end-users and tool makers, between tool makers about standards, and between innovators from different parts of the web with diverse experiences and plans to share. You'll leave the event with new knowledge, new connections and even more inspiration than you've already got about the real-time web. These are conversations about the future of the web that you want to be a part of.

In fast-emerging industries, knowing who the best "experts" are to speak on stage is virtually impossible. We're avoiding the talking-heads, sales-pitch, boring lectures approach. Instead, you'll be able to choose between a menu of participant-driven conversations with 20 to 40 people participating in each.

Program of the Day

The event will open at 8:30 AM with an introduction by ReadWriteWeb Founder & Editor Richard MacManus, followed by the keynote presentation by ReadWriteWeb VP Content Development Marshall Kirkpatrick. Marshall will provide an overview of the state of the real-time web.

The event will conclude between 5-6pm with a synthesis of all the conversations of the day.

In-between, attendees will create the agenda in real-time. As attendees register we are collecting lists of the interests they bring to the summit.

Professionally Facilitated by Kaliya Hamlin

Last year we happened across one of Kaliya Hamlin's unconference events, spent a couple of hours there and it was an amazing experience. I'm really looking forward to the real-time web summit. The unconference format is an amazing way for things to happen, it gets everyone to lower their defenses. By opening peoples' minds to 'this is about whatever we want it to be about', they look at how they can create value.

-Martin Källström, CEO, Twingly

Kaliya Hamlin, our organizing partner and the facilitator of this event, has helped several early-stage industries coalesce. She's best known for facilitating the Internet Identity Workshop, the leading forum of innovation in the development of open standards for user-centered identity on the web: OpenID, Information Cards, Open Social, Activity Streams etc.

Kaliya is an expert at effectively convening meetings of industry leaders – and eliciting contributions from the industry leaders of the future as part of the same conversation.
