New Service Brings Single Click Checkout to Android

singleclick.pngCitibank-sponsored service Single-Click Checkout just launched at the Open Mobile Summit in San Francisco. The service is the first in-app single click credit card checkout system for Android. With Single-Click, merchants can accept credit card payments from any mobile user.

The service enables credit card transactions across the existing infrastructure from companies like MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express and others - it doesn't require users to create a new account with an associated username and password.

Bling Nation Introduces FanConnect: Facebook "Like" a Business at Check Out

bling_nation_branding.jpgReally "like" your local coffee shop? Soon, you'll be able to "like" the shop on Facebook thanks to NFC (near-field communications) pioneer Bling Nation, whose mobile phone stickers are also used to perform mobile payments at participating merchants.

With the new "FanConnect" platform, announced at PayPal's Developer Conference yesterday, businesses can connect with consumers on both Facebook and up-and-coming location-based network Foursquare. All the customer has to do is wave their phone near the store's accompanying NFC reader.

Third-party sellers now have the ability to provide customers with a full-blown Amazon.com experience from directly within their own site, including address book and payment method information.

Amazon Speeds Checkout with New PayPhrase Technology

Online retailer Amazon.com has just announced a new checkout system called "PayPhrase" which speeds up the process of making online purchases by allowing shoppers to enter a unique phrase and 4-digit PIN number to complete their transaction. Both the phrase and PIN are created in advance and are linked to a shipping address and preferred method of payment. After the initial set up, PayPhrase users are no longer required to sign in or fill out credit card information when shopping online.
