Apple today opened iCloud.com beta to members of the iOS and Mac developer programs. 9to5Mac was the first to report the opening, and also noticed that Apple may be including a Google Docs/Microsoft Office 365 style Web-based document editing service. The media feeding frenzy around the newly released Apple iPad has finally reached critical mass as the device was unveiled to the masses today in San Francisco. Some people love it for features like the $499 entry-level price tag, while others are disappointed to learn the device lacks a camera.

One of the biggest announcements Apple made today was the updated versions of the iWork productivity applications, which will run on the iPad with full multi touch integration. Keynote, Pages and Numbers will all be available on the iPad when it goes on sale in a few months - and all at just $9.99 per app.

By Frederic Lardinois / January 6, 2009 10:22 AM

iwork_09_logo.pngApple today announced an online component to its iWork productivity suite. This, however, is not the rumored online version of iWork we were hoping for, as it only allows you to share documents online through iWork.com. After you share a document through the newly released iWork '08 desktop software, your friends and co-workers can comment and leave notes on your Keynote, Pages, or Numbers documents, though the documents themselves can't be edited online.
