We wrote last week about Fetchnotes, a new reminder service. Today a slightly different take on task management can be found from Asana, and while not new it is now free. It might take you two minutes to get started, it is that simple.

Sometimes it is the simplest apps that have the most appeal. My wife is one of those people that frequently sends herself reminders, via either emails or voicemails. A new service that is going into beta today offers a slightly different take on things, called Fetchnotes. Remember the Milk, a popular task management Web and mobile app, recently launched their long-awaited offering for the iPad.

Although the desktop Web version of Remember the Milk works fine on the iPad, the interface doesn't quite take advantage of the tablet form factor. Their new native iOS app fixes that problem with a fancy layout reminiscent of Twitter's iPad app.

By default, task managers are not necessarily the most exciting applications. ReQall, however, is not only one of the better iPhone task managers, but is also trying to make a business out of it by launching reQall Pro today. For $2.99 a month, reQall Pro users get a large number of new features, including Outlook and Google Calendar integration, geotagged events, SMS alerts, and integration with contacts that are already stored on an iPhone (iTunes link) or BlackBerry.

When Google Labs launched its Gmail gadgets for Google Calendar and Docs last week, there was actually a third gadget that they included in the release. But we didn't cover that gadget because it was a little too cryptic to explain without an example of how it might work.

Luckily for us, Remember The Milk was hard at work creating a gadget that would help us do exactly that. Now we can finally explain the third Labs Gmail gadget and check that task off our list - from within Gmail. All thanks to RTM.
