Your presentation needs to be posted before March 28, and probably as soon as possible so you can begin promoting it and get some views. The four presentations with the most unique presentation views and judged to have the best storyline, composition and compelling cause will each win a $5,000 donation to their non-profit.

You don't have to be employed by the non-profit to enter: just designate who is going to get the dough if you win. The winning entries will be based on the strength of your story, presentation composition, and your non-profit's potential to make an impact.

VMware is a virtualization company, right? Then why did it announce yesterday that it is buying SlideRocket, a services company that helps people make their presentations look all snappy?

The same reasons as last year when it bought Zimbra, the email services provider. Microsoft.

The Google Apps Marketplace now has a preliminary billing API that allows a SaaS vendor to manage subscriptions on its own platform.

SlideRocket, GQueues, Cohuman, and WikiFYD are the first services to accept customer transactions using the API, which is powered by Google Checkout.

This week has been good for SlideRocket, an online presentation application built on Adobe's Flex platform. The app had an ultra successful public debut at the Under the Radar Conference, where it won 3 out of 4 possible awards, and they also announced a $2 million Series A investment from Hummer Winblad.
